In March, Jeff obtained a defense verdict for his client, a financial institution, which was sued for negligence in its handling of checks. The plaintiff had sought over $400,000. Jeff successfully defended this client in another case filed by an insurance company which claimed the client was liable for mishandling checks on behalf of its insured. In that case, Jeff substantially reduced plaintiff's claim by pre-trial motion, and then prevailed on the balance of the claim at trial. Both cases were tried in San Diego Superior Court. |
