Richard Valdez has a diverse practice, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in all phases of complex commercial litigation. In his 22 years in practice, he has handled a wide variety of business disputes, product liability litigation, eminent domain, and civil rights litigation. Richard has represented business and property owners in more than 150 cases involving claims of disability access. He has been an adjunct instructor with USD School of Law for six years, teaching trial advocacy. He was a part-time instructor of USD Paralegal’s Program for 15 years, and an instructor with the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. He has been the chair of the City of San Diego’s Ethics Commission. He is co-chair of the Lawyer Representatives of the Southern District of California and a member of the Ninth Circuit Lawyer Representatives Coordinating Committee. He has served on boards of various community organizations and served on the San Diego County Bar Association’s Judicial Evaluation Committee for four years.
